Men Suffering With Heart Disease

There are different kinds of heart disease that occur in men. Typically people think of the narrowing of the arteries leading to the heart -- known as coronary artery disease -- but this is just one kind of heart disease. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States, and has a number of conditions that effect the function and/or structures of the heart. They include heart attack, coronary artery disease, arrythmias, blood vessel disease (vascular disease) and heart valve disease.

It's important to learn as much as you can about your heart to aid in prevention of heart disease. If you have already gotten a form of heart disease, it's possible to live a healthier and more active lifestyle with knowledge about your disease and by being active in your own well-being.

Heart failure is a big health problem in the United States, and effects almost 5 million Americans. It's also the leading cause of hospitalization in people that are older than 65 years old. While the word "failure" can be scary, it doesn't necessarily mean that the heart has stopped working -- it just means that the heart isn't functioning and pumping as well as it use too. Any vascular disease includes conditions that effect the circulatory system. If you have any doubts about your health or experience any of the symptoms of HD, it's always a good idea to check with your doctor and seek treatment if necessary.
